Dr. Dimitre Dimitrov graduated from medical school in his native town Stara Zagora, Bulgaria. His early professional development placed him in charge of patients with sexually transmitted diseases, in a specialized Dermato-Venereological Hospital. Following his experience in Bulgaria, Dr. Dimitrov took a position in Libya where he worked in general dermatology. Later, he moved to the United Arab Emirates where he works. Dr. Dimitrov has worked in various fields during his career development: general dermatology, STD, dermato-surgery, phototherapy, and lasers in dermatology. In addition to clinical practice, he has taught medical students and residents. He is an Adjunct Clinical Associate Professor at CMHS, Khalifa University, Abu Dhabi, UAE. As a Core Faculty, of the Arab Board Dermatology Residency Program at SKMC, Abu Dhabi he is involved in teaching, practical skills congress presentations, and publications of the dermatology residents. For the last few years, his main interest has been in psycho-cutaneous medicine. He conducted research regarding the Stigmatization experience among patients with psoriasis in UAE. Dr. Dimitrov has a number of publications in peer-reviewed medical journals. He is also an author of a book chapter in “Psycho-dermatology in Clinical Practice” Dr. Dimitrov is a member of ESDaP (European Society for Dermatology and Psychiatry), AAD, and EADV, and frequently participates in psycho-dermatological events.
