Zbigniew Ruszczak MD

Prof. Zbigniew Ruszczak, MD, Ph.D. is a Professor of Dermatology and Adjunct Clinical Professor of Medicine at the College of Medicine and Health Sciences, Khalifa University, Abu Dhabi, UAE. He is also a Course Director of “Integumentary System” thatching dermatology to undergraduate students. He lives in the UAE for 12 years as DOH licensed Consultant in Dermatology & Venereology with a particular interest in Allergy, Wound Management, and Pediatric Dermatology. He has over 35 years of experience in clinical dermatology, academic education, the innovative biotechnology industry, and wound management. Prof. Ruszczak is German Board double certified in Dermatology and Allergy and Board Certification in Pathology. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (Edinburgh), American Academy of Dermatology, European Academy of Dermatology & Venereology, and European Society of Pediatric Dermatology. He is a Senior Member of the Education Board of the International Society of Pediatric Dermatology (ISPD), USA. For many years he was a Distinguished Visiting Professor and Consultant in Dermatology at the Rutgers University of New Jersey, Newark, NJ, USA, and at the Newark Chapter of Sigma Xi. He recently served as Assistant Dean for Graduate Medical Education at the College of Medicine and Health Sciences, Khalifa University in Abu Dhabi. Before joining Khalifa University, he was Division Chief of Dermatology at SEHA’s Sheikh Khalifa Medical City (SKMC), Program Director of the Arab Board Dermatology Residency Program, and Adjunct Full Professor Medicine at UAE University in Al Ain. For the last six years, Professor Zbigniew has been a Co-President and Chairman of the Case & Poster Presentation Sessions and Competition at the International Dubai Dermatology Conference (Dubai Derma), one of the most significant dermatology events worldwide. He is the Founder and Chairman of the annual International Pediatric Dermatology Conferences (IPDC), the only platform of this kind in the MENA region. The 5th edition this year attracted over 3000 participants from 74 countries and 27 distinguished international speakers. Recently, Prof. Zbigniew was elected the Chairman of the Pediatric Dermatology Division at the Arab Academy of Dermatology and Esthetics. Prof. Ruszczak presented over 500 lectures at national and international conferences, published over 125 peer-reviewed papers in international journals, and numerous book chapters. He is Associate Editor of the “Dermatologic Therapy” journal, a leading dermatology journal published by John Willey & Sons, and a reviver The Journal of American Academy of Dermatology (JAAD), Journal of European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology (JEADV), JAMA, International Journal of Dermatology, and Cutis, among others. Prof. Ruszczak's main fields of interest are clinical dermatology, allergy diagnosis and treatment, genetic skin diseases, wound management, and the galenic formulation of drugs.

Shaden Abdelhadi MD

Dr. Shaden Abdelhadi is a Pediatric Dermatology Consultant, European Board and Arab Board Certified in Dermatology & Venereology, Belgian Board Certified in Pediatric Dermatology (including clinical training at Seattle Children’s Hospital, Seattle, USA). She holds the Belgian Board in Human Medical Genetics from the Belgian Society of Human Genetics BeSHG (including training at Guys & St. Thomas Genetic Skin Diseases Center in London, UK). Moreover, she is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh (FRCP Edin). Additionally, she is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology (FAAD), the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology (FEADV) and the European Society of Pediatric Dermatology (FESPD). Dr. Shaden is a Member of the Editorial Board of the Dermatologic Therapy, a John Wiley & Sons Ltd. journal. She is also the Director of the ACGMEi accredited Dermatology Residency Program at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City, Abu Dhabi. Dr. Shaden holds the distinction of being the first fully licensed Pediatric Dermatologist in Abu Dhabi. She has been highly active in academics since 2012 including active teaching and supervision in her specialities in both Belgium and the UAE.
