DUBAI, 8th April, 2015 (WAM) — Dr. Abdul Wahab Al Fouzan, Secretary-General of the Pan Arab League of Dermatology, has provided a token of appreciation to Dubai Derma’s Patron, H.H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Minister of Finance and President of Dubai Health Authority, which was received on his behalf by Dr. Rashid Ahmed Bin Fahad, UAE Minister of Environment and Water, in recognition of Sheikh Hamdan’s patronage and continuous support of the Dubai World Dermatology and Laser Conference and Exhibition, and his role in supporting education, health, and scientific research.

Dr. Abdul Wahab said, “On behalf of the scientific committee, I would like to extend our sincere gratitude and appreciation to H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum for his continuous support and invaluable patronage of this event since its inception. I also thank him for his endless efforts and contributions put forward to improve both medical and healthcare services. The evident attention of senior Dubai officials in the health sector, and the organising of periodic conferences and seminars, are making Dubai stand out as a global scientific edifice. The biggest proof of that is the successful organisation of conferences and exhibitions, such as Dubai Derma, which became a global focal point where the most prominent doctors and distinguished specialists in the field of skin care and laser meet to discuss and share their knowledge and expertise.”

Dr. Hassan Galadari, Head of Scientific Committee of Dubai Derma Conference and Exhibition, commented, “The beauty of the programme is that the scientific committee takes into account what our reviewers and those who evaluate us seriously. This year, we have put together a pre-conference cosmetic course instead of the capped workshops we had in the previous year. We wanted to bring in as many professionals as possible from different parts of the world to discuss that specific growing field. In addition, we see that dermatopathology sessions have also made a strong presence in the main programme too.”

The 2nd day witnessed a case report presentation and competition, in which dermatologists and participating doctors from several hospitals presented their different case reports to get a chance of receiving an award of appreciation and cash prizes. This activity aims in encouraging more dermatology research amongst the new generation of dermatologists.

On the exhibition side, Dubai Derma this year witnessed the participation of more than 375 local and international companies covering an overall space of 8,000 square meters with a 25 percent increase in size from the past year. Dubai Derma has seen significant presence by Asian countries, especially South Korea.
