The 16th Dubai World Dermatology and Laser Conference and Exhibition (Dubai Derma 2016), a leading event in the field of laser and dermatology, continued its second day at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Center. Dubai Derma attracted this year a big number of dedicated practitioners, specialists, manufacturers and distributors in the field of dermatology, skin care and laser. The show brings together the latest technology in skin care through specialized exhibition, lectures, courses and workshops.
This year, Dubai Derma has dedicated a full day for Case Report Presentations & Competitions in which dermatologists and participating doctors from several hospitals presented their different case reports to get a chance of receiving an award of appreciation and cash prizes. This activity aims in encouraging more dermatology researches amongst the new generation of dermatologists. The Case Report Presentation & Competition is divided this year into 4 categories that included Case Presentation Competition, Best Published Case, Treatment Challenges, and Expert’s Discussion.
Dubai Derma conference has a rich scientific program this year that encompasses 60 workshops, 90 scientific sessions presented by 230 speakers from the region and the world. For the first time this year, Dubai Derma allocated three different halls for concurrent sessions that are discussing three different aspects that included medical aspects of dermatology, the pediatric aspect of dermatology, and the cosmetic aspect of dermatology. The scientific program on the second day touched upon different topics including: hair disorders, laser complications, non-surgical blepharoplasty, skin cancer, non-surgical treatment of skin cancer, liposuction and many more.
Dr. Hassan Galadari, Head of Scientific Committee of Dubai Derma Conference & Exhibition commented on the program this year by saying: “For the first time, the meeting will be held in a 3 track approach; medical, surgical cosmetic and pediatric. This has allowed us to accept more than 200 abstracts as oral presentations with another 150 as posters. This is slated to be not just the largest dermatology meeting in the region, but the largest in the history of Dubai Derma, itself. In addition, Dubai Derma’s 2nd day was completely reserved for highly interesting clinical cases from across the world.”
On the other side, Dubai Derma exhibition has hosted this year more than 450 local and international companies covering an overall space of 9000 square meter with a 25 % increase in size from the past year. The exhibition has witnessed the launch of the latest technologies and cutting edge equipment used in dermatology, plastic surgeries and laser treatments that included robots for hair transplant, world’s first hypothermic laser for treatment of fat, most advanced innovations in ultrasound and Unipolar™ radio frequency technologies for body contouring and many more.

This year, Dubai Derma has seen significant presence by Asian countries especially South Korea which had the largest country pavilion. The largest local stand was for AMICO, Kalium, & Dansys, and the largest international stand was for L’oreal.
